Slocum Mustangs (Elkhart, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Kennard Tigers (Kennard, TX), 56-19 in a league bout.

With the win, Slocum upgrades its record to 7-5 on the season. The Mustangs travel to Apple Springs (Apple Springs, TX) to play the Eagles in a 1A Region IV District 27 bout on Friday, January 6. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 0-3. Apple Springs lost 50-11 in their recent league bout against Wells (Wells, TX)

Next up, the Tigers play the Neches Tigers (Neches, TX) in a 1A Region IV District 27 bout, on Friday, January 6. Kennard will attempt to upgrade on its 0-10 season record. The Tigers go into the bout with a 18-2 record after their 60-12 league win over Wells (Wells, TX).
