The Porter Ridge Pirates basketball team (Indian Trail, NC), was toppled 57-44 in Tuesday's league battle with the visiting Marvin Ridge Mavericks (Waxhaw, NC)

The Mavericks now possess a 10-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Charlotte Latin for a non-league battle on Thursday, January 5. Marvin Ridge will confront a Hawks team coming off a 42-39 non-league loss to Lincoln Charter (Denver, NC). The Hawks record now stands at 9-2.

The Pirates (6-8) will now prepare for their battle against Monroe (Monroe, NC). The Redhawks come into the non-league battle with a 4-4 record. In their last battle, Monroe beat Anson (Wadesboro, NC), 38-31, in a league battle.
