Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the McDowell Titans (Marion, NC) and the host North Buncombe Black Hawks (Weaverville, NC), saw McDowell's basketball squad knock off North Buncombe by a count of 62-48.

With the victory, McDowell upgrades its record to 10-3 on the campaign. The Titans travel to Enka (Enka, NC) to play the Jets in a 3A/4A Conference 53 challenge on Friday, January 6. The Jets come into the challenge with a record of 0-15. Enka lost 46-26 in their recent non-league challenge against West Henderson (Hendersonville, NC)

Next up, the Black Hawks play the Mitchell Mountaineers (Bakersville, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, January 4. North Buncombe will attempt to upgrade on its 5-7 season record. The Mountaineers come into the challenge with a 5-6 record after their 65-35 non-league loss to Seaforth (Pittsboro, NC).
