Louisiana High School Basketball - Pope John Paul II knocked off by Pearl River

The Pearl River Rebels basketball team scored 44 points and held the visiting Pope John Paul II Jaguars to 35 in the Rebels non-league triumph on Tuesday.

The Rebels now sport a 2-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Salmen for a 4A District 8 contest on Friday, January 6. Pearl River will meet a Spartans team coming off a 82-51 league win over Archbishop Hannan (Covington, LA). The Spartans record now stands at 8-11.

The Jaguars (6-6) will now prepare for their contest against Family Christian (Baton Rouge, LA). The Flames enter the non-league contest with a 12-6 record. In their last contest, Family Christian ran past Tara (Baton Rouge, LA), 73-27, in a non-league contest.
