North Carolina High School Basketball - Polk County crushes R-S Central

January 3, 2023: Rutherfordton, NC 28139

Polk County Wolverines (Columbus, NC) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host R-S Central Hilltoppers (Rutherfordton, NC), 55-16 in a league bout.

With the win, Polk County upgrades its record to 6-5 on the season. The Wolverines host Madison (Marshall, NC) to play the Patriots in a non-league bout on Wednesday, January 4. The Patriots go into the bout with a record of 2-11. Madison lost 61-27 in their recent league bout against Draughn (Valdese, NC)

Next up, the Hilltoppers play the Patton Panthers (Morganton, NC) in a 2A Conference 41 bout, on Friday, January 6. R-S Central will attempt to upgrade on its 0-11 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 0-13 record after their 70-20 league loss to East Rutherford (Forest City, NC).
