The El Capitan Gauchos (Merced, CA) basketball crushed the host Merced Bears (Merced, CA), 47-16 in Tuesday's league test.

The Gauchos (16-0) will now prepare for their test against Buhach Colony (Atwater, CA). The Thunder go into the test with a 1-3 record. In their last test, Buhach Colony walloped Chavez (Stockton, CA), 37-35, in a non-league test.

The Bears now own a 2-2 record. They play next when they travel to Central Valley for a test on Thursday, January 5. Merced will encounter a Hawks squad coming off a 44-33 non-league loss to Tracy (Tracy, CA). The Hawks record now stands at 1-3.
