Eastside Spartans (Coeburn, VA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Rye Cove Eagles (Clinchport, VA), 28-24 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Eastside upgrades its record to 6-1 on the season. The Spartans host Chilhowie (Chilhowie, VA) to play the Warriors in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 5. The Warriors go into the bout with a record of 4-1.

Next up, the Eagles play the Twin Springs Titans (Nickelsville, VA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 20. Rye Cove will attempt to upgrade on its 0-3 season record.
