La Costa Canyon Mavericks (Carlsbad, CA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host St. Augustine Saints (San Diego, CA), 45-43 in a non-league bout.

With the win, La Costa Canyon upgrades its record to 7-5 on the season. The Mavericks host El Camino (Oceanside, CA) to clash with the Wildcats in a bout on Wednesday, January 11. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 2-9.

Next up, the Saints clash with the San Diego Cavers (San Diego, CA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 6. St. Augustine will attempt to upgrade on its 7-7 season record. The Cavers go into the bout with a 7-3 record after their 68-37 non-league loss to University City (San Diego, CA).
