Albany Hornets (Albany, LA) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Covington Lions (Covington, LA), 68-64 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Albany upgrades its record to 12-8 on the campaign. The Hornets travel to Denham Springs (Denham Springs, LA) to play the Yellowjackets in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 4. The Yellowjackets come into the bout with a record of 17-3. Denham Springs won 67-57 in their recent non-league bout against Episcopal (Baton Rouge, LA)

Next up, the Lions play the Pine Raiders (Franklinton, LA) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 4. Covington will attempt to upgrade on its 8-8 season record. The Raiders come into the bout with a 10-8 record after their 60-34 non-league loss to Salmen (Slidell, LA).
