The Appomattox County Raiders (Appomattox, VA) basketball nipped the host Buckingham Knights (Buckingham, VA), 57-55 in Wednesday's non-league test.

The Raiders (2-4) will now prepare for their test against Nelson County (Lovingston, VA). The Governors go into the Dogwood test with a 3-5 record. In their last test, Nelson County was tipped by Parry McCluer (Buena Vista, VA), 74-69, in a non-league test.

The Knights now own a 5-4 record. They play next when they travel to Prince Edward County for a James River test on Friday, January 5. Buckingham will encounter a Eagles squad coming off a 52-51 league loss to Randolph-Henry (Charlotte Court House, VA). The Eagles record now stands at 0-8.
