Auburn Eagles (Riner, VA) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Grayson County Blue Devils (Independence, VA), 59-32 in a league bout.

With the win, Auburn upgrades its record to 5-5 on the season. The Eagles travel to Roanoke Catholic (Roanoke, VA) to clash with the Celtics in a non-league bout on Friday, January 5. The Celtics go into the bout with a record of 1-9. Roanoke Catholic lost 78-51 in their recent league bout against Eastern Mennonite (Harrisonburg, VA)

Next up, the Blue Devils clash with the George Wythe Maroons (Wytheville, VA) in a Mountain Empire bout, on Friday, January 5. Grayson County will attempt to upgrade on its 3-9 season record. The Maroons go into the bout with a 6-2 record after their 79-43 league win over Fort Chiswell (Max Meadows, VA).
