The Melbourne Bearkatz (Melbourne, AR) basketball crushed the visiting Calico Rock Pirates (Calico Rock, AR), 69-35 in Wednesday's non-league test.
The Bearkatz (7-8) will now prepare for their test against Hoxie (Hoxie, AR). The Mustangs go into the 3A Region 2 test with a 4-5 record. In their last test, Hoxie was trounced by Mountain View (Mountain View, AR), 81-59, in a league test.
The Pirates now own a 2-19 record. They play next when they host Rural Special for a 1A Region 2 test on Friday, January 5. Calico Rock will encounter a Rebels squad coming off a 67-52 league win over Norfork (Norfork, AR). The Rebels record now stands at 5-12.
