The Craig County Rockets (New Castle, VA) basketball nipped the visiting Giles Spartans (Pearisburg, VA), 49-42 in Wednesday's non-league test.
The Rockets (3-6) will now prepare for their test against Bath County (Hot Springs, VA). The Chargers go into the Pioneer test with a 5-6 record. In their last test, Bath County got by Meadow Bridge (Meadow Bridge, WV), 68-50, in a non-league test.
The Spartans now own a 2-8 record. They play next when they travel to Fort Chiswell for a Mountain Empire test on Tuesday, January 9.
