Stillwater Ponies (Stillwater, MN) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host East Ridge Raptors (Woodbury, MN), 59-57 in a league bout.

With the victory, Stillwater upgrades its record to 4-5 on the campaign. The Ponies host Irondale (New Brighton, MN) to play the Knights in a AAAA Section 5 bout on Friday, January 5. The Knights come into the bout with a record of 2-7. Irondale lost 89-74 in their recent non-league bout against Chisago Lakes Area (Lindstrom, MN)

Next up, the Raptors play the Park Wolfpack (Cottage Grove, MN) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 5. East Ridge will attempt to upgrade on its 3-6 season record. The Wolfpack come into the bout with a 4-4 record after their 79-72 non-league loss to Harding (St. Paul, MN).
