Plainfield Panthers (Central Village, CT) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Lyman Memorial Bulldogs (Lebanon, CT), 68-53 in a league bout.

With the win, Plainfield upgrades its record to 3-2 on the season. The Panthers host Woodstock Academy (Woodstock, CT) to play the Centaurs in a non-league bout on Friday, January 5. The Centaurs go into the bout with a record of 3-4. Woodstock Academy lost 78-73 in their recent non-league bout against Windham (Willimantic, CT)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Wheeler Lions (North Stonington, CT) in a Eastern Connecticut IV bout, on Friday, January 5. Lyman Memorial will attempt to upgrade on its 1-5 season record. The Lions go into the bout with a 4-2 record after their 54-51 league win over Tourtellotte (North Grosvenordale, CT).
