Moss Point Tigers (Moss Point, MS) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Poplarville Hornets (Poplarville, MS), 56-17 in a league bout.

With the victory, Moss Point upgrades its record to 11-9 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to St. Martin (Ocean Springs, MS) to play the Yellow Jackets in a non-league bout on Friday, January 5. The Yellow Jackets come into the bout with a record of 3-13. St. Martin won 66-35 in their recent non-league bout against Poplarville (Poplarville, MS)

Next up, the Hornets play the Pass Christian Pirates (Pass Christian, MS) in a 4A Region 8 bout, on Friday, January 5. Poplarville will attempt to upgrade on its 0-17 season record. The Pirates come into the bout with a 10-7 record after their 57-34 league win over Bay (Bay St. Louis, MS).
