Port Allegany Gators (Port Allegany, PA) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Northern Potter Panthers (Ulysses, PA), 57-40 in a league bout.

With the victory, Port Allegany upgrades its record to 5-4 on the campaign. The Gators host Cameron County (Emporium, PA) to play the Raiders in a North Tier bout on Friday, January 5. The Raiders come into the bout with a record of 8-2. Cameron County won 28-26 in their recent non-league bout against Ridgway (Ridgway, PA)

Next up, the Panthers play the Oswayo Valley Green Wave (Shinglehouse, PA) in a North Tier bout, on Friday, January 5. Northern Potter will attempt to upgrade on its 3-6 season record. The Green Wave come into the bout with a 1-5 record after their 54-20 league loss to Port Allegany (Port Allegany, PA).
