The Piute Thunderbirds topped the host Wayne Badgers basketball team by a final score of 59-44 in Wednesday's league game.
In their next game, the Thunderbirds face the Millard Eagles (Fillmore, UT) in a non-league game, on Friday, January 5. Piute will attempt to move on its 9-2 season record. The Eagles enter the game with a 0-13 record after their 70-28 league loss to South Sevier (Monroe, UT).
With the defeat, Wayne moves to 8-7 on the year. The Badgers host Panguitch (Panguitch, UT) to face the Bobcats in a 1A Region 20 game on Thursday, January 11. The Bobcats enter the game with a record of 11-3.
