Randolph-Henry Statesmen (Charlotte Court House, VA) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Prince Edward County Eagles (Farmville, VA), 52-51 in a league bout.

With the victory, Randolph-Henry upgrades its record to 4-4 on the campaign. The Statesmen host Amelia County (Amelia Court House, VA) to play the Raiders in a James River bout on Friday, January 5. The Raiders come into the bout with a record of 5-2. Amelia County won 74-59 in their recent league bout against Cumberland (Cumberland, VA)

Next up, the Eagles play the Buckingham Knights (Buckingham, VA) in a James River bout, on Friday, January 5. Prince Edward County will attempt to upgrade on its 0-8 season record. The Knights come into the bout with a 5-4 record after their 57-55 non-league loss to Appomattox County (Appomattox, VA).
