Rice Consolidated Raiders (Altair, TX) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Tidehaven Tigers (El Maton, TX), 44-36 in a league bout.

With the win, Rice Consolidated upgrades its record to 16-6 on the season. The Raiders travel to Palacios (Palacios, TX) to clash with the Sharks in a 3A Region IV District 25 bout on Friday, January 5. The Sharks go into the bout with a record of 9-14. Palacios won 46-42 in their recent non-league bout against St. Paul (Shiner, TX)

Next up, the Tigers clash with the Yoakum Bulldogs (Yoakum, TX) in a 3A Region IV District 25 bout, on Friday, January 5. Tidehaven will attempt to upgrade on its 3-2 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 10-10 record after their 46-37 league win over Hallettsville (Hallettsville, TX).
