Glide Wildcats (Glide, OR) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting South Umpqua Lancers (Myrtle Creek, OR), 38-37 in a league bout.

With the victory, Glide upgrades its record to 6-4 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Douglas (Winston, OR) to play the Trojans in a 3A Far West bout on Friday, January 5. The Trojans come into the bout with a record of 1-9. Douglas lost 50-31 in their recent non-league bout against North Bend (North Bend, OR)

Next up, the Lancers play the Coquille Red Devils (Coquille, OR) in a 3A Far West bout, on Friday, January 5. South Umpqua will attempt to upgrade on its 4-7 season record. The Red Devils come into the bout with a 13-1 record after their 58-31 league loss to Sutherlin (Sutherlin, OR).
