Pine-Richland Rams (Gibsonia, PA) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad wallop the visiting Hempfield Area Spartans (Greensburg, PA), 59-23 in a league challenge.

With the victory, Pine-Richland improves its record to 2-6 on the campaign. The Rams host North Allegheny (Wexford, PA) to confront the Tigers in a WPIAL 6A 1 challenge on Thursday, January 4. The Tigers come into the challenge with a record of 6-1. North Allegheny lost 47-42 in their recent league challenge against Norwin (North Huntingdon, PA)

Next up, the Spartans confront the Seneca Valley Raiders (Harmony, PA) in a WPIAL 6A 1 challenge, on Thursday, January 4. Hempfield Area will attempt to improve on its 7-3 season record. The Raiders come into the challenge with a 4-2 record after their 51-44 league win over Butler (Butler, PA).
