The North Stokes Vikings ran past the host McMichael Phoenix basketball team by a final score of 42-28 in Wednesday's non-league game.
In their next game, the Vikings face the Starmount Rams (Boonville, NC) in a 1A Northwest test, on Friday, January 5. North Stokes will attempt to advance on its 11-2 season record. The Rams go into the test with a 1-10 record after their 51-38 non-league loss to Surry Central (Dobson, NC).
The Phoenix now own a 3-7 record. They play next when they host Morehead for a 2A Mid-State test on Tuesday, January 9.
