Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Western Albemarle Warriors (Crozet, VA) and the host Orange County Fighting Hornets (Orange, VA), saw Western Albemarle's basketball squad knock off Orange County by a count of 28-16.

With the victory, Western Albemarle upgrades its record to 7-0 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to Monticello (Charlottesville, VA) to play the Mustangs in a non-league challenge on Thursday, January 4. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a record of 4-2. Monticello won 35-8 in their recent non-league challenge against Louisa County (Mineral, VA)

Next up, the Fighting Hornets play the Fluvanna County Flying Flucos (Palmyra, VA) in a challenge, on Friday, January 5. Orange County will attempt to upgrade on its 5-5 season record. The Flying Flucos come into the challenge with a 1-4 record after their 61-26 non-league loss to Albemarle (Charlottesville, VA).
