Appomattox County Raiders (Appomattox, VA) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Buckingham Knights (Buckingham, VA), 48-45 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Appomattox County upgrades its record to 1-4 on the season. The Raiders travel to Nelson County (Lovingston, VA) to play the Governors in a non-league bout on Friday, January 5. The Governors go into the bout with a record of 5-3. Nelson County won 48-36 in their recent non-league bout against Parry McCluer (Buena Vista, VA)

Next up, the Knights play the Prince Edward County Eagles (Farmville, VA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 5. Buckingham will attempt to upgrade on its 4-3 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 4-1 record after their 54-32 non-league win over Randolph-Henry (Charlotte Court House, VA).
