Glenvar Highlanders (Salem, VA) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Carroll County Cavaliers (Hillsville, VA), 66-55 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Glenvar upgrades its record to 3-7 on the season. The Highlanders travel to Christiansburg (Christiansburg, VA) to clash with the Blue Demons in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 4. The Blue Demons go into the bout with a record of 0-8. Christiansburg lost 75-47 in their recent non-league bout against William Byrd (Vinton, VA)

Next up, the Cavaliers clash with the Alleghany Cougars (Covington, VA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 5. Carroll County will attempt to upgrade on its 1-5 season record. The Cougars go into the bout with a 10-1 record after their 52-11 non-league win over James River (Buchanan, VA).
