Aliceville Yellowjackets (Aliceville, AL) supporters left the game happy Friday as they witnessed their basketball team overwhelm the host Pickens Academy Pirates (Carrollton, AL), 55-34 in a non-league challenge.
The Yellowjackets (2-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Tuscaloosa Academy (Tuscaloosa, AL). The Knights come into the 2A Area 7 challenge with a 6-1 record. In their last challenge, Tuscaloosa Academy was routed by Marion County (Buena Vista, GA), 50-43, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Pirates encounter the South Lamar Stallions (Millport, AL) in a 1A Area 9 bout, on Monday, January 6. Pickens Academy will attempt to move on its 0-5 season record. The Stallions go into the bout with a 8-9 record after their 58-47 non-league loss to Greene County (Greensboro, GA).
