In Friday's non-league contest, the host San Tan Foothills Sabercats basketball team scored a big 70-41 triumph over the Benson Bobcats.
The Sabercats (8-3) will now prepare for their contest against Payson (Payson, AZ). The Longhorns go into the 3A Metro contest with a 5-6 record. In their last contest, Payson was trounced by Sunnyside (Tucson, AZ), 64-47, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Bobcats battle the Scottsdale Christian Academy Eagles (Phoenix, AZ) in a non-league contest, on Friday, January 3. Benson will attempt to better on its 3-11 season record. The Eagles go into the contest with a 7-3 record after their 67-36 non-league loss to Colony (Palmer, AK).
