In Friday's league test, the R-S Central Hilltoppers (Rutherfordton, NC) basketball squad got by the host Brevard Blue Devils (Brevard, NC), by a final score of 47-46.

Next, the Hilltoppers clash with the Polk County Wolverines (Columbus, NC) in a 1A/2A Mountain Foothills 7 test, on Tuesday, January 7. R-S Central will attempt to upgrade on its 5-6 season record. The Wolverines come into the test with a 2-9 record after their 63-51 non-league loss to Erwin (Asheville, NC).

The Blue Devils (2-4) will now prepare for their test against Owen (Black Mountain, NC). The Warhorses come into the non-league test with a 6-2 record. In their last test, Owen held off Mountain Heritage (Burnsville, NC), 71-64, in a league test.
