The Catholic of Pointe Coupee Hornets basketball team scored 68 points and limited the visiting False River Gators to 36 in the Hornets non-league triumph on Friday.

The Hornets now have a 6-9 record. They play next when they travel to Louisiana School for the Deaf for a non-league game on Tuesday, January 7. Catholic of Pointe Coupee will confront a War Eagles team coming off a 61-14 non-league loss to Texas School for the Deaf (Austin, TX). The War Eagles record now stands at 0-15.

With the loss, False River falls to 5-13 on the campaign. The Gators host Central Private (Baker, LA) to confront the Redhawks in a non-league game on Monday, January 6. The Redhawks go into the game with a record of 10-8. Central Private lost 68-66 in their recent non-league game against Ascension Catholic (Donaldsonville, LA)
