Chaminade Flyers (Mineola, NY) supporters left the game happy Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad run past the host Kellenberg Memorial Firebirds (Uniondale, NY), 69-57 in a league match.

With the victory, Chaminade advances its record to 5-3 on the year. The Flyers host Monsignor Scanlan (Bronx, NY) to meet the Crusaders in a non-league match on Saturday, January 4. The Crusaders enter the match with a record of 2-4.

The Firebirds now own a 1-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to St. Mary's for a Catholic Nassau Suffolk match on Tuesday, January 7. Kellenberg Memorial will meet a Gaels squad coming off a 83-66 league loss to St. Anthony's (Melville, NY). The Gaels record now stands at 0-2.
