In Friday's league contest, the host Griswold Grizzlies basketball team scored a close 57-55 win over the Wallowa Cougars.
The Grizzlies (2-9) will now prepare for their contest against Cove (Cove, OR). The Leopards come into the 1A Old Oregon contest with a 9-5 record. In their last contest, Cove edged Elgin (Elgin, OR), 62-44, in a league contest.
In their next game, the Cougars battle the Echo Cougars (Echo, OR) in a 1A Old Oregon contest, on Saturday, January 4. Wallowa will attempt to better on its 2-12 season record. The Cougars come into the contest with a 7-4 record after their 53-51 non-league win over Mitchell/Spray/Wheeler (Mitchell, OR).
