The Cougars (5-11) will now prepare for their challenge against Grapeland (Grapeland, TX). The Sandies come into the 2A Region III District 20 challenge with a 11-2 record. In their last challenge, Grapeland trounced Centerville (Centerville, TX), 77-40, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Indians battle the Lovelady Lions (Lovelady, TX) in a 2A Region III District 20 challenge, on Tuesday, January 7. Groveton will attempt to better on its 6-12 season record. The Lions come into the challenge with a 6-12 record after their 42-32 league loss to Normangee (Normangee, TX).
