In Friday's non-league contest, the host Gulfport Admirals basketball team scored a good 56-42 triumph over the Picayune Maroon Tide.
The Admirals (15-1) will now prepare for their contest against Ocean Springs (Ocean Springs, MS). The Greyhounds go into the 7A Region 4 contest with a 6-8 record. In their last contest, Ocean Springs was topped by Meridian (Meridian, MS), 51-44, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Maroon Tide confront the George County Rebels (Lucedale, MS) in a 6A Region 4 contest, on Tuesday, January 7. Picayune will attempt to better on its 4-9 season record. The Rebels go into the contest with a 5-8 record after their 67-39 non-league loss to Presbyterian Christian (Hattiesburg, MS).
