North Carolina High School Basketball - Kings Mountain held off by Shelby

January 3, 2025: Shelby, NC 28152

In Friday's non-league test, the Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC) basketball squad got by the visiting Kings Mountain Mountaineers (Kings Mountain, NC), by a score of 58-53.

Next, the Golden Lions encounter the Varsity Opponent (, ) in a non-league test, on Saturday, January 4. Shelby will attempt to improve on its 5-5 season record. The come into the test with a 228-845 record after their 75-42 non-league win over Johnson County Sports Association (Cleburne, TX).

The Mountaineers (6-5) will now prepare for their test against Ashbrook (Gastonia, NC). The Greenwave come into the 3A Big South test with a 10-2 record. In their last test, Ashbrook held off Gaston Day (Gastonia, NC), 79-70, in a non-league test.
