The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Lamar Raiders (Meridian, MS) and the visiting Park Place Christian Academy Crusaders (Pearl, MS), observed Lamar's basketball team overwhelm Park Place Christian Academy by a score of 61-39.

The Raiders (4-11) will now prepare for their challenge against Wayne Academy (Waynesboro, MS). The Jaguars come into the MAIS 5A District 2 challenge with a 10-5 record. In their last challenge, Wayne Academy was routed by Presbyterian Christian (Hattiesburg, MS), 63-25, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Crusaders encounter the Leake Academy Rebels (Madden, MS) in a MAIS 5A District 2 challenge, on Tuesday, January 7. Park Place Christian Academy will attempt to improve on its 3-12 season record. The Rebels come into the challenge with a 12-6 record after their 42-41 league loss to Simpson Academy (Mendenhall, MS).
