Mississippi High School Basketball - Leake Central sneaks past West Lauderdale

The Leake Central Gators (Carthage, MS) basketball edged the visiting West Lauderdale Knights (Collinsville, MS), 81-80 in Friday's league bout.
The Gators now possess a 15-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Northeast Lauderdale for a 4A Region 4 outing on Tuesday, January 7. Leake Central will face a Trojans squad coming off a 61-43 non-league win over Resurrection Catholic (Pascagoula, MS). The Trojans record now stands at 9-7.
The Knights (12-2) will now prepare for their outing against Newton County (Decatur, MS). The Cougars enter the 4A Region 4 outing with a 7-5 record. In their last outing, Newton County was nipped by Choctaw Central (Philadelphia, MS), 75-72, in a league outing.
