North Carolina High School Basketball - Montgomery Central overwhelmed by Southern Lee

In Friday's non-league test, the Southern Lee Cavaliers (Sanford, NC) basketball squad trounced the host Montgomery Central Timberwolves (Troy, NC), by a score of 78-26.

Next, the Cavaliers encounter the Hoke County Bucks (Raeford, NC) in a 3A/4A Sandhills test, on Tuesday, January 7. Southern Lee will attempt to improve on its 12-0 season record. The Bucks come into the test with a 6-7 record after their 50-43 non-league win over Woodland (Dorchester, SC).

The Timberwolves (0-12) will now prepare for their test against North Davidson (Lexington, NC). The Black Knights come into the 3A Mid-Piedmont test with a 7-5 record. In their last test, North Davidson was routed by Western Guilford (Greensboro, NC), 68-54, in a non-league test.
