In Friday's league contest, the host New Hampstead Phoenix basketball team scored a big 64-32 win over the Perry Panthers.
The Phoenix (8-7) will now prepare for their contest against Ware County (Waycross, GA). The Gators come into the AAAA Region 1 contest with a 10-4 record. In their last contest, Ware County smashed Vidalia (Vidalia, GA), 61-36, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Panthers battle the Benedictine Cadets (Savannah, GA) in a AAAA Region 1 contest, on Tuesday, January 7. Perry will attempt to better on its 3-11 season record. The Cadets come into the contest with a 11-2 record after their 67-46 non-league win over May River (Bluffton, SC).
