The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Taft Greyhounds (Taft, TX) and the visiting Odem Owls (Odem, TX), observed Taft's basketball team overwhelm Odem by a score of 77-38.

The Greyhounds (13-10) will now prepare for their challenge against London (Corpus Christi, TX). The Pirates come into the 3A Region IV District 29 challenge with a 19-5 record. In their last challenge, London trounced George West (George West, TX), 46-32, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Owls encounter the Karnes City Badgers (Karnes City, TX) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 7. Odem will attempt to improve on its 5-7 season record. The Badgers come into the challenge with a 12-9 record after their 78-27 non-league loss to Great Hearts Northern Oaks (San Antonio, TX).
