North Carolina High School Basketball - Central Academy succumbs to Anson

January 3, 2025: Wadesboro, NC 28170

In Friday's league test, the Anson Bearcats (Wadesboro, NC) basketball squad defeated the visiting Central Academy Cougars (Monroe, NC), by a score of 44-26.

Next, the Bearcats clash with the Parkwood Wolf Pack (Monroe, NC) in a 2A/3A Rocky River test, on Tuesday, January 7. Anson will attempt to improve on its 6-6 season record. The Wolf Pack come into the test with a 3-11 record after their 54-32 league loss to West Stanly (Oakboro, NC).

The Cougars (0-12) will now prepare for their test against Piedmont (Monroe, NC). The Panthers come into the 2A/3A Rocky River test with a 5-8 record. In their last test, Piedmont went down by Forest Hills (Marshville, NC), 55-19, in a league test.
