In Friday's league contest, the visiting Apponequet Regional Lakers basketball team scored a close 50-47 triumph over the Greater New Bedford RVT Bears.

The Lakers (4-1) will now prepare for their contest against Bourne (Bourne, MA). The Canalmen go into the South Coast contest with a 5-0 record. In their last contest, Bourne nipped Somerset Berkley Regional (Somerset, MA), 70-41, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Bears battle the Case Cardinals (Swansea, MA) in a South Coast contest, on Tuesday, January 7. Greater New Bedford RVT will attempt to better on its 1-4 season record.
