In Friday's non-league contest, the visiting Bassett Bengals basketball team scored a good 55-39 win over the William Byrd Terriers.
The Bengals (4-6) will now prepare for their contest against Martinsville (Martinsville, VA). The Bulldogs come into the Piedmont contest with a 5-5 record. In their last contest, Martinsville was topped by Norfolk Academy (Norfolk, VA), 46-28, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Terriers battle the Fleming Colonels (Roanoke, VA) in a Blue Ridge contest, on Tuesday, January 7. William Byrd will attempt to better on its 4-6 season record. The Colonels come into the contest with a 7-2 record after their 62-41 non-league loss to Grayson (Loganville, GA).
