The Myrtle Hawks basketball team scored 44 points and limited the host Byers Lions to 33 in the Hawks league triumph on Friday.
The Hawks now possess a 8-9 record. They play next when they host Pine Grove for a 1A Region 2 game on Tuesday, January 7. Myrtle will confront a Panthers team coming off a 55-36 non-league loss to Walnut (Walnut, MS). The Panthers record now stands at 8-7.
With the loss, Byers falls to 5-11 on the campaign. The Lions travel to Strayhorn (Sarah, MS) to face the Mustangs in a non-league match on Tuesday, January 7. The Mustangs enter the match with a record of 0-6.
