In Friday's league contest, the host Conway Christian Eagles basketball team scored a close 51-48 win over the Mt. Vernon-Enola Warhawks.
The Eagles (8-3) will now prepare for their contest against Quitman (Quitman, AR). The Bulldogs come into the 2A Region 5 contest with a 17-0 record. In their last contest, Quitman edged Lakeside (Hot Springs, AR), 45-35, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Warhawks battle the Central Arkansas Christian Mustangs (North Little Rock, AR) in a 2A Region 5 contest, on Monday, January 6. Mt. Vernon-Enola will attempt to better on its 13-7 season record. The Mustangs come into the contest with a 1-14 record after their 75-36 non-league loss to England (England, AR).
