The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the Forbush Falcons (East Bend, NC) and the visiting East Wilkes Cardinals (Ronda, NC), observed Forbush's basketball team knock off East Wilkes by a score of 51-42.

The Falcons (10-1) will now prepare for their challenge against North Surry (Mount Airy, NC). The Greyhounds come into the 2A Foothills challenge with a 9-1 record. In their last challenge, North Surry prevailed over East Surry (Pilot Mountain, NC), 49-46, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Cardinals encounter the South Stokes Sauras (Walnut Cove, NC) in a 1A Northwest challenge, on Tuesday, January 7. East Wilkes will attempt to improve on its 4-8 season record. The Sauras come into the challenge with a 5-4 record after their 52-45 league win over Mount Airy (Mount Airy, NC).
