In Friday's league test, the Gwynedd Mercy Academy Monarchs (Gwynedd Valley, PA) basketball squad knocked off the visiting Villa Joseph Marie Jems (Holland, PA), by a score of 41-30.

Next, the Monarchs encounter the Liberty Hurricanes (Bethlehem, PA) in a non-league test, on Saturday, January 4. Gwynedd Mercy Academy will attempt to improve on its 7-1 season record. The Hurricanes come into the test with a 5-5 record after their 56-41 non-league loss to Wilson (West Lawn, PA).

The Jems (4-6) will now prepare for their test against Harry S. Truman (Levittown, PA). The Tigers come into the non-league test with a 0-8 record. In their last test, Harry S. Truman went down by Neshaminy (Langhorne, PA), 56-34, in a non-league test.
