North Carolina High School Basketball - McDowell triumphant over South Caldwell

January 3, 2025: Marion, NC 28752

The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the McDowell Titans (Marion, NC) and the visiting South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC), observed McDowell's basketball team overwhelm South Caldwell by a score of 50-23.

The Titans (13-0) will now prepare for their challenge against North Buncombe (Weaverville, NC). The Black Hawks come into the 3A/4A Mountain challenge with a 8-3 record.

In their next game, the Spartans encounter the Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC) in a 3A/4A Northwestern challenge, on Friday, January 10. South Caldwell will attempt to improve on its 9-5 season record. The Pioneers come into the challenge with a 6-4 record after their 54-44 non-league win over A.C. Reynolds (Asheville, NC).
