The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Perquimans Pirates (Hertford, NC) and the visiting North East Carolina Prep Husky (Tarboro, NC), observed Perquimans's basketball team overwhelm North East Carolina Prep by a score of 67-11.

The Pirates (11-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Washington County (Plymouth, NC). The Panthers come into the 1A Four Rivers challenge with a 5-2 record. In their last challenge, Washington County trounced Holmes (Edenton, NC), 50-45, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Husky encounter the Hobgood Charter Raiders (Hobgood, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 7. North East Carolina Prep will attempt to improve on its 0-9 season record. The Raiders come into the challenge with a 2-3 record after their 65-14 non-league loss to Washington County (Plymouth, NC).
