The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Spring Hill Panthers (Longview, TX) and the visiting Pine Tree Pirates (Longview, TX), observed Spring Hill's basketball team overwhelm Pine Tree by a margin of 56-29.

The Panthers (17-7) will now prepare for their challenge against Henderson (Henderson, TX). The Lions come into the 4A Region II District 16 challenge with a 9-10 record. In their last challenge, Henderson trounced Gilmer (Gilmer, TX), 44-35, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Pirates battle the Kilgore Bulldogs (Kilgore, TX) in a 4A Region II District 16 challenge, on Tuesday, January 7. Pine Tree will attempt to better on its 12-6 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 5-10 record after their 46-33 league loss to Carthage (Carthage, TX).
